First ever star that shined on the sky of LUX Channel
I Super Star was Shanarei Debi Shanu. This artistic
girl from Sylhet wore the first crown of this beauty
pageant in 2005 and with her; the journey of finding
finest beauty of Bangladesh has began.
Before LCSS, Shanu was an ordinary girl with no one to
admire her extraordinary skills except for her own
persons. LCSS has given her the biggest opportunity
ever to prove the skills and to be cherished by the
mass audience of the country people. Shanu believes a
girl must have confidence on her beauty and on her
skills, only than she can prove herself as a star.
When she was asked, if she was not Shanu who she would
like to be, she said she was born as a LUX Channel I
Super Star and there was no other possibility of
becoming something else. Showing what you really are
and not pretending to be someone else can bring you
real success in life.”
Shanu in Self
Shanu grew up surrounded by the hills and greeneries
of Sylhet. That is why she showed her eagerness to
spend her holidays in places like Mauritius, Rangamati
and mostly in Sylhet where she can enjoy the nature.
When Shanu is bored she mostly prefers to go on a
rickshaw ride in calm quite roads surrounded by the
hills and tea garden. Shanu thinks intelligence,
humanity and kindness are the characteristics that
describe a person’s exquisiteness.
Shanu’s Style
Shanu thinks to remain natural is the most important
thing in beauty. When you feel natural you are
beautiful. That is why she does not like to use much
make up. She adores the colors red and white most when
she is choosing her cloths. On a casual day, Shanu is
very much into jeans and T shirt.
Passion for Culture
From childhood Shanu was encouraged to explore every
aspect of cultural deeds by her Poet father and Dancer
mother. For that reason many cultural characteristics
are very prominent in her and later on which helped
her to win the LUX Channel I Super Star. She had
participated in many competitions and shows in radio
through out her life in dancing, singing etc. Shanu
says, “Dancing is in my blood and as I grew up I have
realized my devotion for acting also”. In her
childhood, Shanu used to act in different characters
in front of the mirror.
